Inviting Geopolitical Researchers to Contribute to the Book on Maritime Chokepoints

More from Author

We invite students, researchers, and professionals to contribute to our upcoming book titled “At the Crossroads: Maritime Chokepoints and Their Impact on Global Affairs.” This book will look at how important certain narrow sea routes, called maritime chokepoints, are in global trade, security, and international politics. These chokepoints are like narrow roads in the ocean that ships must pass through to move goods between countries. Their control is crucial for world trade and peace.

Book Overview : “At the Crossroads: Maritime Chokepoints and Their Impact on Global Affairs”

Maritime chokepoints, such as the Strait of Hormuz, the Suez Canal, and the Strait of Malacca, are key to shipping goods around the world. They play a big role in the movement of oil, gas, and other products, as well as in shaping the political power of different nations. This book will explain how these chokepoints affect global trade, energy security, and relations between countries.

You can also read more about the Choke Points

We welcome chapter submissions from anyone studying or working in fields like political science, economics, international relations, law, or maritime security. You can share research, case studies, and examples on how maritime chokepoints impact the world.

Suggested Topics for Chapters

You can write about different areas connected to the importance of maritime chokepoints. Some ideas for topics are:

  1. Security Concerns and Geopolitical Tensions

This topic explores how these chokepoints can cause political tension and even military conflicts. You can write about how control over these points can affect the security of countries and influence global peace.

  2. Economic Impact – Global Trade and Supply Chain

Chokepoints are critical for the global economy as they help transport goods and resources. You can write about how disruptions at chokepoints can hurt global trade, increase shipping costs, or slow down supply chains.

  3. Historical and Contemporary Case Studies

You can share past and recent examples of major events related to maritime chokepoints. For example, you could write about the Ever Given ship that blocked the Suez Canal in 2021, which affected trade worldwide.

  4. Impact on the Flow of Energy and Critical Resources

Some chokepoints are vital for moving energy resources, like oil and gas. You can write about how these chokepoints are key for global energy security and how conflicts or accidents in these areas could lead to energy crises.

  5. Diplomatic and Legal Dimensions

You can write about the legal and diplomatic rules that govern these chokepoints. For example, how international laws like the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) affect the use and control of these waterways.

Additional Topics

If you have ideas beyond the topics listed, you are welcome to submit them as long as they are related to the impact of maritime chokepoints on global trade, security, and international relations.
